When you can't travel by boat you take a road trip to Niagara Falls. Jack, Jane, Dave and Penny rented a car and we caravaned to Canada. We took the scenic route which took us by
beautiful farmlands (a lot of cherry farms) and along Lake Ontario. This is beautiful country up here (in the summer that is). The trip to Canada took about 3-4 hours (and not a McDonalds in sight the whole trip). After
a 30 minute wait to pass through customs (finally got to use my passport), we parked and walked along the walkway to view the falls –
Niagara Falls and Horseshoe Falls. We spent some time walking along the pathways looking over at the Falls and all the surrounding waters. The real surprise was how touristy the town was. Lots of souvenir shops, restaurants, museums. I rode the big Sky Wheel
with Katie and Kayla. We went through customs again into the U.S. and headed to Buffalo for dinner at the Anchor Bar – original restaurant
for buffalo wings. It was a great day and we were all exhausted when we got back around midnight.
