January 1, 2017 - Time for a New Adventure

After spending a great summer at Bluewater, we decided it was time for a new adventure.  We enjoyed our time at Bluewater, family was always close by, and the staff here were great.  We stored the car and jetskis and with a lot of excitement (and a little sadness), we pulled out of the marina at 7:45 January 1 and spent a great day on the water heading to Panama City.  It felt really great to be traveling again. The problem of the day was that we needed fuel and all the marinas were closed for New Years.  We dropped our anchor just across from a marina around 2:00 and settled in for the night.  Later in the afternoon we looked out to see Ted and Sara (the big orange Manatee) pulling up beside us.  They rafted next to us for the night, put a little fuel in our tanks the next morning, and we headed to the marina.  Our plan was to get fuel and head to Shell Island to anchor out for the night.  However, the generator had a fuel leak and we ended up at BayPoint Marina in Panama City for repairs.  The repairs were done quickly and we were going to leave, but, in the meantime, Ted and Sara had engine problems and were being in towed in so we waited for them.  Thankfully, their repairs were nothing and Ted was so excited he didn't have to pay $20,000 for a new motor, that he took us and some other friends of theirs out for a great dinner.  The marina was great with a Jack Nicklaus golf course across the street that Jack wanted to play.  However, we had a weather window to meet, so we had to leave.

Goodbye Jimmie!!
