January 12, 2017 - Venice, Cayo Costa

We left our anchorage at Terra Ceia Bay around 7:45 and docked at Fisherman's Wharf in Venice around 11:45.  We took a walk into town for lunch, did some wandering around the various shops, and made a stop at Publix.  All in all, it was about a 4 mile walk (it didn't seem that far when we did it two years ago).  On Friday, we left Venice around 7:45, got fuel at Marker One, and anchored at Cayo Costa State Park around 12:30.  This is a great anchorage and a great park. We just stayed on the boat the rest of the day enjoying the scenery.  Sunday we took the dinghy into the park and walked around for a while.  A tram took us across the island to the Gulf where we walked on the beach for a while and then had a nice lunch at one of the picnic tables. This park has many camping areas.  I wandered around some of the other roads in the park. While we were running around in the dingy, we met Glorious Dei (just finished the loop) and Let it Be (they were just starting).  After that we returned to the boat and were actually able to watch a Texans game.  This was our last anchorage before heading to Ft. Myers for two months so we really enjoyed the peaceful surroundings.
