On Thursday, Wayne, Darcy, Rob, Tricia, David, Kim, Jack and I piled into 3 dinghys for a nine mile trip up the Caloosahatchee River to the Manatee River. There is a power plant with warm water in the Manatee River where the manatees go in the winter when the rivers are too cold. However, this year the rivers never got cold enough, and alas there were no manatees in the river. However, it was a great day, We watched many kayakers and boats along the river and found a nice spot to beach the dinghys for our lunch.
