July 30 - August 4, 2015 - Midland, Beausoleil Island

After spending the week in Midland waiting for various repairs to Spirit and Bob's leg to heal (Field Trip), we fueled up and headed out Monday morning to begin our adventure in Georgian Bay.  We had to leave Field Trip and Patriot behind as Bob needed one more day to recuperate.  Our first stop was Beausoleil Island (Cedar Springs), on the southern end.  We anchored out and took the dinghy ashore.  This is a great national park with campgrounds, walking trails, and biking trails.  We took a nice walk around the area and then returned to the boat.  On Tuesday we headed to the northern end of the island which took about 50 minutes.  We again anchored out and waited for Field Trip and Patriot to catch up.  We put our dinghys in the water and docked by one of the trails around Fairy Lake.  This turned out to be quite a hike because most of it was up and down rocks.  We found a nice place to sit and eat our lunch overlooking Goblin Bay. The entire area was beautiful. That night, Jack made his famous Caesar salad and all eight of us dined aboard Spirit.
