August 17, 2015 - Back in the USA

We left our anchorage at 7:30 for the three hour trip to Drummond Island.  At approximately 9:40 we re-entered the United States.  Even though we were sad about leaving Canada, everyone was excited to be back home again. This meant everyone could turn on their phones and data plans and get reconnected with the world!  We docked at Drummond Island at 11:30 and waited to clear customs.  Customs was not a problem, although we had to part with a grapefruit and half a dozen eggs.  An hour later we were docked at DeTour Marina for the night.  We walked into the town, exchanged our Canadian money, and went to dinner. The other advantages of being back in the U.S. is that we could shop at grocery stores for product names we recognized, I could cancel the international plan I had on my phone, AND our TV was finally able to find some satellites so we could watch TV!  We have had no TV for about the last month.

Some numbers:  days on the loop - 222; miles traveled - 4,144.

Last sunrise in Canada

Yeah - we've crossed back into the US!

A sample of some of our Canadian money - the paper money is plastic
(different colors); top coin is a loonie ($1), bottom is a toonie ($2)
