M/V Nearly Perfect: June 13-16, 2015

Saturday we rented a car and took a road trip to Hyde Park to visit the FDR Mansion and museum. The mansion was beautiful and overlooked the Hudson River. The museum was very interesting. It was the first presidential museum. After that, we went to the CIA for dinner (Culinary Institute of America). There are several restaurants in this school and we went to the Italian restaurant for dinner. The menu was a fixed menu with several appetizers, entrees, and desserts. All the food was prepared and served by the students and was very good. Sunday was another road trip to the Vanderbilt Mansion and West Point. West Point is a beautiful school and the tour was quite interesting. We then toured the Vanderbilt Mansion (which we learned is the smallest of the Vanderbilt mansions). This mansion was only used in the spring and fall. The scenery along our travels was absolutely beautiful. Once again we had great weather. That evening we had docktails with our new neighbors - Dave and Jane (Biscuit). Monday was a rainy day so we spent the day doing grocery shopping and laundry and generally relaxing. We had a nice dinner with Jack and Jane (Spirit), Tom and Doris (Second Fantasy), and Dave and Jane (Biscuit). On Tuesday, we spent the day waiting for the generator part to be delivered. Jane and I walked to Wells Fargo so I could get some papers signed. We then spent the rest of the day getting ready to leave. The part finally came at 5:00. We had dinner on our boat with Jack and Jane.
