June 11-12, 2015 - New York City (part 2)

A parade of three boats left Great Kills around 8:30 - Jack and Jane (Spirit) and Curt and Julie (CJ).  Our first stop was to rendezvous at the Statue of Liberty for the much awaited pictures with the Lady.  We had to dodge ferries, freighters, and tour boats, but we accomplished our mission.  We then had a nice ride to Half Moon Bay Marina in Croton on Hudson.  The weather was beautiful and the scenery up the Hudson River was fantastic.  We settled into the marina and enjoyed some pizza and wine for dinner.  The next day we were up and ready for our third (and final day) in New York City.  We caught a commuter train and about 45-50 minutes later we arrived at Grand Central Station.  We walked through Central Park and went to the top of the Empire State Building.  We then took our final bus tour which was a night tour (although it wasn't really dark yet) through parts of Manhattan and across the bridge to Brooklyn.  We had a fantastic time in New York.  We found the people to be friendly and the weather for all our days in was sunny and warm, although New Yorkers were complaining about the heat!

The best picture of all!

    1. Will do. He passed your greetings to us. They are ahead of us now. They are the ones who took our Statue of Liberty picture. It turned out great! Good to hear from you guys! We're getting ready to head into the Erie Cana.
