April 12-15, 2017- St. Augustine, back to Jacksonville

At about 7:00 Wednesday morning, we pulled up our anchor and headed south to St. Augustine.  It was a beautiful day on the water and we docked at Saint Augustine Marina about 1:30 in the afternoon.  We spent the rest of the day walking around the shops on St. George Street and ended the day eating at the Columbia Restaurant celebrating Jack's birthday.  On Thursday, we boarded the Red Train Tour and toured around the city.  St. Augustine is the oldest continuously occupied settlement of European origin in the United States.  We took the Red Train to many of the historical sites but it wasn't as informative as the tour we took two years ago.  We took a tour of the Chocolate Factory which was pretty interesting and also included several samples of their chocolate.  We followed that with a tour of the St. Augustine Distillery (where we purchased several bottles of Vodka and Bourbon). We did a lot of walking and shopping around the town.  Late that afternoon we noticed that Jim and Mandy (Shell Belle) had pulled into the marina so we were able to spend some time with them that night.  Friday morning it was time to head back to Jacksonville.  The girls hit the pool and I hit the laundry room.  On Saturday, Jack took Maggie and Tricia to the airport in the morning while the girls packed.  When the truck was returned, the girls loaded all their gear and took off for home.  It was an action packed week.  We saw a lot of different sites, and we all had a great time.
