We left Norfolk Thursday morning at 8:30 for a short trip to Hampton, arriving at around 10:50. There was a lot of activity on this part of the Chesapeake Bay. On the way, we passed Portsmouth Naval Yard and Norfolk
Naval Base. The USS Eisenhower and USS Harry Truman were docked at the Naval Yard. We passed the USS George H.W. Bush (from the water this time) and also watched a big warship come into Norfolk Naval Station. We docked at the Hampton Public Dock and took advantage of the stay 3 nights, get the 4th for free. We rented a car so we could do some sightseeing around the area. Most of Thursday afternoon was spent walking around the downtown area of Hampton. On Friday we toured the Virginia Air and Space Museum in the morning and the Mariner's Museum in the afternoon. Both museums were exceptional and we came back to the boat with brain overload. Our weather continues to be good. It was a little chilly Thursday, but nice and sunny Friday.
