July 31-Aug. 4, 20017 - Rock Hall (again)

After fueling up and pumping out, we left Bohemia Bay Monday for a return trip to Rock Hall.  The Chesapeake was absolutely beautiful today.  Skies were blue and the waters were very calm.  We had a great trip to Rock Hall and docked at Rock Hall Landing Marina around 1:30.  We had a few calls into repairmen and the one for the dinghy motor came about an hour after we arrived and took the dinghy motor to get it repaired (one of the repairmen never called).  One of the boaters on our dock, Chuck, came by to visit and took Jack to the hardware store Tuesday morning.  Some other boaters, John and Jennifer (Turnstone) came in on Tuesday and we had docktails with them.  I met a few women while doing laundry who were down here from Pennsylvania with a group of about 5 boats.  We met most of that group later in the day at the pool.  We took the trolley one day to Walgreens and West Marine.  Most of the time we just hung around the boat and the pool.  We had a pretty good rain storm Wednesday night, but most of the time the weather was great. Frank (our hero) came late Thursday to put the repaired dinghy motor on.  Unfortunately, we still had water in our fuel tank so the motor did not work.  Since a storm was coming, Frank said he would be back in the morning to empty and refill our tank.  Sure enough, at 7:15 Thursday he showed up and within an hour everything was running just fine.  We were finally ready to go anchor out!  After getting information on anchorages from Bill and Dotty, Bellevue Square, we were off to Chester River.

Most gas pumps don't have a latch to hold the pump so our
friend Billy gave us some tennis balls - it worked great

Beautiful Chesapeake Bay leaving Bohemia River

More of the Maryland countryside

These two deer were wandering in the field behind Walgreens

You can't come to Rock Hall without getting some of the good ice cream

Great minds working on the dinghy - Chuck, Frank (the
repairman) and Jack

All the houses had beautiful flowers around them
